Jody Peters is an artist based in Ontario, Canada. She graduated from the University of Toronto in 1993 with a degree in Fine Arts. Jody is inspired by the Surrealist movement by artists such as Giorgio de Chirico, Rene Magritte, and Salvador Dali. These inspirations are reflected in her work using a variety of mediums including acrylic, pastel, coloured pencil and glass etching. She has recently been experimenting with glass etching to create another layer to paintings. With this technique, the glass that is used to protect the painting is incorporated into the piece to create a unique perspective. Jody often uses the peacefulness and tranquility of her surroundings often depicting a woman from behind looking out and realizing that there is more out there than what she has just observed.
